Shopping List

Still working on making a complete list of measurements but here are the things you'll need as of now.  I will also try to put a shopping list for the individual pages if you don't want to do everything.
  • Around 7 yards of Pellon, Extra Firm Stabilizer (at JoAnn fabrics it is a yellow label with the three digit number of 926. Regularly priced at $3.99 but don't buy unless it is on sale for 50% or you have a 50% off coupon.)
  • One to two yards of Heat 'n' Bond Lite iron on adhesive (Also known as wonder under which is what I will refer to it as. This is normally $1.99 but again, I always wait for it to go 50% off.)
  • More then 1 yrd of Velcro.  I'm thinking around 2.5 to 3 yards but I still don't know the exact amount you need.  I like to buy it by the yard so I can buy a bunch and use just one coupon at Jo Ann.
  • 6 snaps.  I like the medium size but it's up to you.
  • 5 shank buttons.  Shank buttons don't have the visible holes, there is a piece of plastic on the back of the button that has the holes to go through.
  • Permanent markers: 2 Regular size black and a bunch of fine tip black.  If you want other colors go for it but I think you can get by with just black.
  • Crayons.  I wouldn't use washable crayons.  I've been using a combination of twistable crayons and regular crayons.  Also a good thing to get is the twistable color pencils.  They do work on the felt and are magic on the detail drawing.
  • White and black thread.
  • Felt in a variety of colors.
  • Scraps of fabric.  I will put notices on the pages that need scraps.  I'm a perfectionist and sometimes want a specific kind of fabric for the page.  The least amount of fabric you can buy at Jo Ann is 4.5 inches which ends up being pretty cheap usually.
  • As of now my plan is to use eyelets to help attach the pages to the books.
  • Fabric for the cover but I haven't done that yet so that will come soon.
This is NOT complete as of now.  I'm not done with my book, I'm writing this blog as I go.  I will make adjustments as I go.
